🎉 Happy Quinceañera, Azalea Martinez! 🎉

🎉 Happy Quinceañera, Azalea Martinez! 🎉

What a fantastic evening celebrating Azalea's 15th birthday yesterday! DJ Tommy Scott had the pleasure of providing the music and entertainment for a wonderful backyard celebration surrounded by family and friends!

The evening began with the grand introduction of our beautiful quinceañera, followed by an incredible hour of live music from Mariachi Tequila DFW! 🎺🎶

While everyone enjoyed the mariachi music, Frezko Taco Spot served up some absolutely delicious street tacos! 🌮

After dinner, it was time for some beautiful quinceañera traditions, including the Changing of the Shoes and the presentation of the Last Teddy Bear to the next family member who will be turning 15.

Then came the special Father-Daughter Dance, creating another unforgettable memory for Azalea and her family. ❤️

And after all the traditions were complete... IT WAS PARTY TIME! 🎶💃🕺

What a great night of music, dancing, family, and celebration!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Azalea and her family for allowing DJ Tommy Scott to be part of such an important milestone. Wishing Azalea a wonderful year ahead and a lifetime of happiness!

Clean vs. Explicit Music: What Couples Should Know

Image
Music sets the tone for your wedding—so choosing between clean and explicit versions of songs is a bigger deal than most couples realize. As a professional wedding DJ, I see this come up at almost every planning meeting. Here’s what you need to know so your dance floor stays fun, respectful, and stress-free. 🎧 What Does “Clean” Really Mean? Clean versions remove or replace: Profanity Sexual references Drug or violence-related lyrics They keep the energy and beat of the original song—just without the awkward moments when Grandma is standing next to the flower girl. 🔥 Why Explicit Music Can Be Risky Even if you and your friends love the original versions, remember: Your guest list includes all ages Parents, grandparents, coworkers, and kids are listening Some lyrics can offend or make guests uncomfortable One bad word at the wrong moment can shift the entire vibe of the room. 💍 What Most Couples Choose Most couples ask for: Clean edits during dinner, cocktail hour, and family...

How to Balance Old School & Modern Music at a Wedding

Image
By DJ Tommy Scott – Your Dallas Wedding DJ One of the biggest questions couples ask me is: “How do we make everyone happy on the dance floor?” You’ve got grandparents who love Motown and classic rock, friends who want throwback hip-hop, and a younger crowd ready for today’s hits. The good news? You don’t have to choose sides. A great wedding DJ knows how to blend old school and modern music so the dance floor stays full all night. Here’s how I do it 👇 🎶 Start with Familiar, Build the Energy Early in the reception, I like to ease everyone in with songs that cross generations—think timeless classics that instantly feel comfortable. This helps guests of all ages warm up before the energy ramps up. Once the dance floor is moving, that’s when we start layering in newer music and higher-energy tracks. 🔄 Mix Eras, Don’t Segregate Them Instead of playing 20 oldies in a row and then switching to all modern hits, I blend eras together . A classic sing-along followed by a current favo...
