This past Saturday, I had the absolute honor of providing the soundtrack for a truly special day at the Coleman Center/Garland Room ay Lavon Drive Baptist Church, where love, laughter, and joy filled the air. As DJ Tommy Scott – Your Dallas Wedding DJ, I had the privilege of ensuring the celebration moved smoothly, creating a seamless and unforgettable experience for the newlyweds and their guests.

The Ceremony: Love Takes Center Stage

The beautiful union of Mr. and Mrs. Mark and Janie Fox took place at 2 PM. A heartfelt ceremony, filled with emotion, allowing just enough time for those picture-perfect moments afterward. Meanwhile, guests made their way to the reception area, ready to continue celebrating the new chapter of Mark and Janie’s lives.

Reception Highlights

With a carefully planned timeline, the reception flowed effortlessly, ensuring that every special moment was celebrated with enthusiasm. From the moment guests arrived, I guided them with announcements, making sure everyone felt included and engaged.

  • Guests were welcomed with a delicious charcuterie spread, encouraging them to enjoy the selections while assisting their children.
  • Kids were entertained with coloring pages, ensuring they had fun as the afternoon unfolded.
  • A gift box and envelopes were available for those who wished to leave a thoughtful gesture for the couple.
  • A heart-filled shadowbox allowed guests to leave their mark by signing a heart and dropping it in as a keepsake of their presence.

A Joyful Grand Entrance & First Dance

One of the most exciting moments was introducing Mr. and Mrs. Mark and Janie Fox as they entered their reception, officially greeting their loved ones as newlyweds. As requested, guests were invited to take their seats as the couple shared their beautiful first dance—a truly heartfelt and special moment.

Surprise Song & Heartfelt Words

A memorable highlight came when Janie surprised Mark with a heartfelt song, a moment filled with love, admiration, and pure emotion. Guests were also invited to share a few words, creating a warm atmosphere filled with laughter, advice, and well-wishes for the couple’s journey ahead.

Cake Cutting & Fun Farewell

As tradition calls, the cake-cutting was announced, inviting guests to indulge in delicious cupcakes—a sweet way to celebrate love! Finally, a creative farewell had everyone lining up by the picture arch, where quick group snapshots with Mark and Janie made for lasting memories.

The Perfect Send-off

As the festivities wrapped up, it was time for the newlyweds to make their grand exit. To set the perfect tone, I played Natasha Bedingfield’s “Unwritten”, an uplifting and meaningful song to celebrate the beginning of their new adventure together.
